Animal and Fisheries Department


Animal and Fisheries Department of Bihar Government was formed by the Government of Bihar for encouraging fisheries and animal husbandry system in teh state of Bihar. Its head office is at Patna. It was formed on 10th October 1964. Many acts and rules were made for the benefit of fisheries and animal husbandry.

An advertisement has been published in the official website of Animal and Fisheries Resource Department of Bihar. Through this advertisement, it invites applications from Indian nationals for various positions of Touring Veterinary Medical Officer. Only candidates with domicile of Bihar state can apply and that too latest by 21st October 2011 by sending an application form in a prescribed format to State Coordinator, B.L.D.A., Frozen Semain Bank-cum-Bul Station beside of Bihar Veterinary College, near Patna Airport, Patna – 800014. This post is on contract basis for a period of 1 year. Both men and women are eligible.


Total 300 vacancies are available for the post of Touring Veterinary Medical Officer. Candidates applying for this post should be more than 37 years [ maximum 42 years for women ] and should posses the degree of B.V.Sc in Veterinary Science and also A.H.Degree. 6 months of internship training is also necessary and candidates should be registered from Bihar Veterinary Council of Patna. Selection will be based on interview and selected candidates will get placement under the salary of Rs. 22500/- per month in first class veterinary hospital under the state of Bihar
