Kolkata Police Recruitment 2012 for Constables
West Bengal has two police forces namely-The West Bengal Police Force and The Kolkata Police Force. Kolkata Police was formed in 1856. It provide policing service to the state of Kolkata. Its head quarter is at Lalbazar Street of Kolkata. It consist of 5 divisions covering 6 police stations. The Commissioner of Police supervise the Kolkata Police. It provide peace and security to the people of the state.
A recruitment notification has been published by the Kolkata Police Recruitment Board for the recruitment of Sub Inspector and Sergeant in Kolkata police force. Interested candidates who fulfil all the required criteria can apply before 3rd February 2012 by sending an application form in a prescribed format along with attested photo copies of other required documents.
137 posts are for Sub-Inspector, 15 vacancies are for the post of Lady Sub Inspector and 684 posts are for Sergeant. All these posts are under the pay scale of Rs.7100-37600/- along with grade pay of Rs.3900/- in PB-3 scale.
Qualification and age limit: Candidates with graduation degree and able to read, write and speak Bengali language fluently can apply for the above post. Candidates age should be be between 20-27 years.
Selection will be through a common selection procedure for all the posts which will include Physical Measurement Test, Written Examination and Personality Test. Physical measurement test will be for teh measurement of height, weight and chest of the candidates. While Written test will consist of 3 papers, Paper I, paper II and Paper III. Paper I will be of objective type and Paper II and Paper III will be of Conventional type and all the three papers will be on same day. At last is Personality Test which will be of 50 marks.

A new vacancy notification has been released for the recruitment of 2500 Constables and 50 for Lady Constables. These posts are under the pay scale of Rs.5400-25200/- and GP Rs.2600/-. Age limit should be 18-27 years and candidates must have passed Madhyamik examination under W.B.B.S.E. Last date to apply for this post is 12th February 2012.
Selection will be through Physical Measurement Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test and at last interview.
