Orissa Public Service Commission is also known as OPSC or Orissa PSC. It was formed on 1st April 1949 by the Constitution of India. Formerly it was a joint public service commission with Bihar. Its main office is at Cuttack. it consists of 1 chairman and 5 other members who are appointed by the governor of the state. It make recruitment rules for the recruitment of various services of group B and group A positions. Recruitment are made through competitive examinations and interview. OPSC also give advice to the government of Orissa regarding recruitment and promotion of officers of various departments.
An advertisement no. 01 of 2012-13 has been published through which Orissa PSC invites application from Indian Nationals for the post of Professors and Associate Professors in Group ‘A’ of Odisha Medical Education Service under Health & Family Welfare Department. Interested candidates can apply before 10th May 2012.
7 vacancies are for the post of Professor and 7 posts are for Associate Professor. Both of these positions are in the department of Transfusion Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Rheumatology.
Eligibility Criteria: Degree of MD/ Ph.D/ D.Sc/ DNB in the relevant discipline is required for all the posts. Candidates applying for the post of Professor should not be more than 55 years of age and candidates with below 50 years of age can apply for the post of Associate Professor. Fluency in Odia language is a must and candidates must have passed any of the examination in Odia language.
Pay scale: Both the above posts are under the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000/- with AGP Rs.10000 and Rs.9000/- respectively.
Eligible candidates can apply by sending an application form in a prescribed format along with photocopies of HSC pass certificate, 12th call certificate, MBBS degree certificate, PG Degree certificate, mark sheets of respective examination, houseman-ship completion certificate, medical registration certificate, Odia pass certificate from Board of Secondary Education, 3 recent passport size photographs, character certificate, acknowledgment card and 1 self addressed envelop.
